There is the general belief and acceptance that Manchester United would be able to compete with Man City for the Premier League title next season but not without one or two additions to otherwise strong squad.
United are already in the market to sign reinforcement and they are eyeing a move for Croatia international and Atletico Madrid right wing back Sime Vrsaljko, this is according to report.
The 26-year-old star made a name for himself while lacing his boots in the Seria A for Genoa and Sassuolo, but on signing for Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2016, the player has seen his stock somewhat reduced and he will consider lacing his boots away from the Vicente Calderon.
Over the course the two seasons he has spent with Atletico Madrid, he has featured scantily for the side, making only 54 appearances, with 19 of those cameos as starts in the La Liga this term. He’s been sharing game time with Juanfran and it is believed that with the right offer, he could quit the Madrid based club.
And according to the Daily Mail, United are looking for right back as the speculation surrounding the future of Matteo Darmian continues to spread. The report claimed further that Atletico Madrid have valued the player at £30million and they will not budge unless his valuation is met.
Mourinho made it clear after the January transfer window that he will be in the market mainly for a midfielder(s) but the uncertainty surrounding some of his defenders will force him to be looking for replacement.
