Man United will be hosted by Southampton in their penultimate Premier League game but the result of the game will have not effect either positive or negative on their already horrendous season.
United are sitting in sixth position on the Premier League table and even if they win their final two games, the Red Devils will still end the campaign as the sixth placed Club of the 2016/15 League season.
Nonetheless, Man United will play Ajax in the Europa League final and the Mourinho would be looking to keep his already injury inflicted squad fit as they hope to lift the Europa Cup trophy and qualify for the Champions League.
The Europa Cup final is scheduled for Stockholm next week and Claude Puel and his side are dubbed as underdog but they are not expected to take it lightly with Jose Mourinho and his men. Man United are hoping to bounce back from consecutive defeats to Arsenal and Tottenham to put them in good stead for the Europa final.
United will be without five key players. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo sustained injuries while playing against Anderlecht in April but they are on the recovery pane and are not expected back in action until next term. Luke Shaw sustained a niggling injury on his foot while Ashley Young got banjaxed with a hamstring pull.
The list of injured players also includes Timo Fosu-Mensah’s, who is out of the side that will play the Saints tonight with a shoulder injury. However, United will be boosted by the return of Marouane Fellaini after serving suspension.
Mourinho is expected to tweak his team but this is how we think Man United will file out tonight.
