England coach Gareth Southgate is concerned Marcus Rashford may not get enough game under Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho this season, according to reports.
Mourinho panned criticisms at the youngster star after seeing a Red in United’s 2-0 win at after retaliating to former United defender Phil Bardsley aggravating challenge.
Mourinho, 55, termed his repulsive action as “naive”. Rashford has had a brilliant showoff for England in the UEFA Nation’s League and has won huge admiration from fans and Southgate.
But there are heaping worries he has a long way to go, in slicing through ranks at United, and getting regular games at Old Trafford.
Rashford has been reportedly advised to abandon the club and search for greener pastures elsewhere.
Sky Sports Pundit Jamie Carragher believes the 20-year-old will increase his chances of a regular call-up if he joins another club.
Carragher is of the opinion the rising talent will not get a nod ahead for Belgian star Romelu Lukaku.
Mourinho is a huge admirer of the Belgian frontman and his athleticism and his bold stature up front is a huge threat.
But Rashford insists he will remain under the tutelage of the ‘Special One’ and believes he will sprout under the Portuguese.
United will travel to Watford on Saturday, however Rashford may not be included in his[Mourinho] starting lineup.
