Manchester United are readying a bid for Leicester City defender Harry Maguire, according to reports.
The Red Devils are willing to bring in the Englishman for a reported fee of £60m. It is believed that if successful, Maguire will join the Old Trafford team come January.
According to the Sun, United are ready to spend big as the gap between them and other big European teams is widening by the day.
The club manager Jose Mourinho also wants to strengthen the club’s defence, and he has outlined the Leicester City man as the ideal solution to the club’s current defensive problems. Having been heavily linked to the Englishman in the summer, the move never materialized as the defender penned a new five year contract with Leicester.
However, the Sun claims that the United board are ready to test the Foxes’ resolve with a £60m offer. According to reports, Manchester United are even ready to double Maguire’s present £75,000 a week wage.
The defender has found the back of the net two times this season. He has also been carded thrice in ten appearances in the English Premier League.
United will resume Premier League action as they travel to Bournemouth on Saturday as Mourinho seeks to better the team’s present log on the standings.
