Man United ready £60m bid for rock solid World Cup semi-final CB

Manchester United are set to make bid for World Cup centre-back Toby Alderweireld before the summer transfer window is closed. The Tottenham star’s prized at 60 million pounds by the north London outfit.

And according to the Daily Star, the Red Devils will cough up that amount for the centre-back.

The Mancunians club may have had the second best defence in the English top flight, conceding only 28 goals, but they still have some wee bit of loop holes that could be exploited by the opposition.

Eric Bailly is already handful in that department and partnering him with a top quality who has enjoyed a rich experience in the Premier League wouldn’t seem illogical.

Alderweireld is a good fit for the job. Albeit, there is Phil Jones and Chris Smalling but the duo can’t get much around the ball and Victor Lindelof is still a newcomer in the game.

Alderweireld has been touted to leave the club after falling out with coach Mauricio Pochettino last term and was subjected to the sidelines due to injuries, however that ruckus extended after claims emerged that despite being fit, Pochettino refused to play him on the pitch.

The Belgian joined Spurs in 2015 and is considered one the best centre-backs in the league. United will get him for 25 million pounds next summer when his contract expires, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is eager to win big from his sale this summer to Manchester United.
