Man United on the verge of completing £44m deal for South-American Chelsea target

Pundits and fans of the Premier League have predicted that Manchester United would be able to compete with City for the title next season, but the Red Devils will have to tweak their current team with new signing(s) to be able to do so.

If reports making the rounds is anything to go by, then Man United are on the verge of signing Brazil and Juventus left Alex Sandro.

Chelsea were front-runners for the player’s signature but Juventus refused to budge to their advances at that time – the Blues returned with offers for the player in the January transfer window but yet failed to secure a deal for him. And now, Man United are in pole position to snap him up.

According to the Metro via La Stampa, an agreement is already in place for Sandro to switch the Juventus Stadium for the fortress of Old Trafford ahead of the coming season. The move for the player is said to be worth £44million according to report.

Jose Mourinho has favoured Ashley Young as his makeshift left wing back, and this has stirred reports that Luke Shaw, Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind will be sold in the summer.

Mourinho is looking to fortify the left back position and he believes Alex Sandro is the perfect fit for the position in his squad.

An announcement for the deal is expected to be made soon but that should come after Man United’s FA Cup clash with Chelsea on Saturday.
