It’s raining problems in Manchester United’s centre. Paul Pogba continues to be ignored by Jose Mourinho, which leaves the Portuguese with slimmer options, threatening to choke up his tactical reasoning.
Mourinho managed to weave through all these and has got Ander Herrera dictating play for him from the centre. The 29-year-old has enjoyed fewer games this season under the Portuguese, though.
But he’s fitted snugly into that role. Still, he has been able to provide the depth Mourinho had always demanded from his centres.
The 29-year-old’s services are only short termed. Herrera’s contract with the club will run until the end of this season and Mou has strongly persuaded the club to keep him.
Talks are already in the pipeline to hammer out a brilliant deal for the midfielder. Reports are confirming that barring any complications, talks between both parties has continued to ride on a smooth note.
Herrera is allowed to have new contract talks with rival clubs, United understand this and like a drowning man will clutch at a straw, are strongly keen to make the Spaniard stay.
Herrera has made 11 appearances for the Red Devils and has gone on to rack up 172 appearances for the English side, including winning the FA, League, and Europa League trophies, under his belt.
