Man United officials close to deal for trio after Mourinho’s plea

Jose Mourinho has blamed the travails of Manchester United in the Premier League this term on the dearth of transfer activities at the club.

While Mourinho desires to sign just one player in this transfer window, reports have revealed that Man United have asked their scouts to get three signings for the club before the close of window.

Man United spent heavily in the summer transfer window but Jose Mourinho could not get the fourth player he so desired before the close of the window. Ivan Perisic was a prime target for the Red Devils after they had sign Romelu Lukaku, Victor Lindelof and Nemanja Matic but Inter Milan rebuffed all bids for Perisic.

And now, the Daily Mail claims, the scouts of Man United have been saddled with the responsibility of searching for a left and right wing back, and a creative midfielder before the close of this window.

Antonio Valencia is currently the only established right back at Old Trafford trusted by Mourinho while Ashley Young has been forced to play in the unfamiliar left back position.

Man United have been linked with a move for Mesut Ozil but they will have to look elsewhere or wait till the summer to sign him as Arsenal have ruled out his sale this month. Meanwhile, Danny Rose and Alex Sandro have also been linked with a move to United.

Mourinho wants his squad to reinforced but it is highly unlikely that the brass of the club will be able to sanction a deal for a marquee signing until the summer.
