Man United enter race to sign £35m-rated most wanted versatile Premier League player

Jose Mourinho has reportedly expressed interests in signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal after Ivan Perisic deal’s failed to push through.

The United boss wants a winger at the club this summer and he had hoped to sign Inter Milan’s Perisic but now it appears the deal is completely off for good. The Portuguese manager had bids rejected for the Croatian international, with the Italian giants not ready to let go of their player.

In the light of that, Mourinho has now turned his attention to Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is also a target for Chelsea and Liverpool. Mourinho has already signed three players this summer – with Victor Lindelof, Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic moving to Old Trafford – but has made signing a winger his priority afterwards.

The Blue boss, Antonio Conte is also said to be keen on adding the England midfielder to his options at Stamford Bridge and he is closely monitoring his situation at the Emirates Stadium – he was reportedly subject to a £35m bid from the Blues.

The 24-year-old is already into the final year of his contract at Arsenal but Arsene Wenger wants to keep hold of the player though he risks losing him for free next summer, as Alex has not agreed to extend his contract with the FA Cup winners.

Likewise, Mourinho wants the Central midfielder who can also play in the right wing-back in his team as he wants a bolstered squad before the transfer window shuts.
