Manchester United have announced a deal for Benfica center back Victor Lindolf as their first summer signing but the Red Devils are yet unrelenting as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster all areas of his team.
With the age of Michael Carrick and the decline of Wayne Rooney, the middle of the pack for Man United is one area that needs to be bolstered and Mourinho has been strongly linked with a move for Monaco versatile midfielder Fabibho as they look to sign him after completing Lindolf’s deal, per report.
Fabio agreed a permanent deal with the French Champions in the summer of 2015 after spending two years on loan with them from Rio Ave. Since moving to Monaco, the player has been a regular and was a key member of the squad that conquered the Ligue One title.
The major attraction for Jose Mourinho to the player is his ability to effortlessly play as a right back and a central midfielder. Valencia has been the makeshift right back for the Red Devils, should Fabinho sign for United, he will be expected to slot into that position permanently.
The report further claims that Fabinho has not decided to sign a new deal with Monaco with his current contract billed to expire in 2019. The Brazilian has set his sight only at Old Trafford should a deal fail to pull through for him at Monaco.
Despite his playing position, he scored nine goals and provided assist in the La Liga last term.
