Italian Champions Juventus have failed in their attempts to sign Chelsea star Nemanja Matic, leaving the Serbian midfielder close to a Man United move, according to reports.
Matic was dropped from Chelsea’s team that toured Asia and he was given the permission to speak with the Club of his choice but despite keen interest from Juventus, they have been unable to meet his valuation. Abramovich had sanctioned the sale of the player but for a whopping £50million.
Following the signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko, Matic became redundant in the Blues team but Mourinho is in the want of the Player. Man United are short of midfield options and the Portuguese tactician is keen on reuniting with the Serbian.
United have also been linked with a move for Eric Dier but according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the Red Devils are front runners for the signature of Matic. Mourinho is looking for an ideal partner for Paul Pogba and it is believed that Matic will be a perfect fit for his team.
The report added that Juventus have now turned their attention to Paris Saint Germain’s Blaise Matuidi, who has been speculated to leave Parc des Princes this summer.
Jose Mourinho has bemoaned the lack of transfer activities in his side but apparently, Ed Woodward must give him one or two signings but it is left to be seen if Chelsea will sell their man to Man United.
