Top Manchester United players, Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera have reportedly failed to agree contract extensions at the club. The current contracts of both players are due to expire next summer, but as at now, both have failed to successfully agree new terms of renewal with the club.
Reports state that Fellaini’s representatives have already met with the club’s officials but have so far refused to accept any of the club’s offers; which only serves to fuel speculations that the Belgium international may be on his way out of the club.
In recent years, he has indeed been close to exiting the club after being heavily criticized for his lackluster performances during the reigns of Louis Van Gaal and then David Moyes; but, despite being experiencing some form of revival and consistency under Mourinho, he has reportedly grown unhappy since the arrival of fellow midfielder and Serbian international Nemanja Matic, and may thusbe looking out for other options locally and abroad.
On the other hand, it is reported that Ander Herrera is eager to remain at the club. Having joined the Old Trafford from Spanish side Athletic Bilbao in 2014, he has grown to become one of United’s most indispensable players. He was voted as the club’s Player of the year last season due to his amazing impact on and off the pitch, and it is reported that United will do all that they can to keep the player at the club for the foreseeable future.
