Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal lock horns for the signature of tough-tackling CB
The battle for supremacy in the Premier League is not only fought on the pitch of play, the transfer window is one battle ground with Clubs with hefty transfer war-chest slug it out for players of their desire.
A report by Skysport has cited German media outlet Bild that Premier League trio Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are all in the running for the signature of Greek and Borussia Dortmund centre-back Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
The 29-year-old defender is now in the final year of his contract with the Signa Iduna Park outfits and he has made bare his desire to move to a new Club outside the German Bundesliga. And the top Guns of the EPL appear to be interested in securing a deal for the tough tackler.
Chelsea are expecting their experienced centre-back John Terry to depart Stamford Bridge and Conte is not pleased with the form of French defender Zuma. The Blues are in the market for a centre-back but Sokratis may be too old to for the Premier League Champions.
Meanwhile, Man United had the second best defense in the League, they have already completed a deal for Victor Lindolf but Mourinho has been linked with the transfer of some defenders and Sokratis is emerging as a recent transfer target.
Arsenal may have been linked, but it is not looking like Arsene Wenger would add a centre-back and so i think Chelsea and United are the major contenders for the players signature.
