Manchester United have already snapped up two players in this transfer window but they are looking to go one better before the start of the season.’
According to emerging reports, the Red Devils have opened talks with Serbia and Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
Mourinho has spent heavily in the transfer window since his appointment in 2016 but he is poised to do more. The Red Devils failed to win the Premier league title for another five years but Mourinho is looking to bring back the glory days for the side.
Following the retirement of Michael Carrick and the speculation that was surrounding the future of Marouane Fellaini, Mourinho revealed that he would only sign a midfielder if the aforementioned Belgian failed to commit his future with the side.
Fellaini has agreed to put pen to paper on a Man United deal – nonetheless, the Daily Express is reporting that United have open talks with Milinkovic-Savic in a bid to steal a march on Real Madrid for the player’s signature.
The 23-year-old joined Lazio in the summer of 2015 and he has been described as a bull-dozer in the middle of the pack for the Seria A Side. He was heavily linked with a move for United even before they signed Fred but they have re-open talks with the player.
Milinkovic-Savic is valued at £81.00m according to transfermarkt and it is difficult to see how Man United will pay such amount for a player that they do not need at the moment.
