For Chelsea, the Premier League is over but their rivals are yet battling to end the season in one of the spots for Champions League qualification.
The transfer market we’ll be thrown wide open next month but all the clubs already have their sights in the market for their transfer targets. We are sure to see the top clubs of the Premier League lock horns for the signature of some players.
According to latest report by Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils have contacted Spain international and Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata for a switch to Old Trafford, with Chelsea and Arsenal understood to be keenly interested in the forward.
Manchester United are currently without an established out and out striker following the long-term injury sustained by Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Mourinho is on the look out for a prolific striker and the report claims he’s weighing up a deal for Morata.’
It was Jose Mourinho that handed the player his Real Madrid debut at the Santiago Bernabeu in 2010 and a reunion may just be in the offing. Morata has been left as a fringe player since his return to Madrid last summer despite the poor form of Karim Benzema – the player is in the want of first team football and he can get that at the Fortress of Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have had a long standing interest in the player as the Blues prepare to return to the Champions League next season amid speculation over Diego Costa’s China exit. It is believed that Conte has Morata at the prime of his targets.
Arsenal are also unsure of the future of Alexis Sanchez, who could make a switch to Juventus next season. Morata has been dubbed as an ideal replacement for the Chillean, who is valued by Wenger at £50million.
It will be interesting to see where he ends up next season but should he want a move, he’ll consider Champions League football which will put Chelsea in pole position for his signature.
