Time is melting in Mourinho’s hands as he struggles to turn United’s fortunes around. While some players already have their hands on the door knob of Old Trafford’s exit door, defender Luke Shaw is looking to extend his stay at the Manchester Outfit.
Shaw suffered slashing remarks from Mourinho last season, where United finished second in the Premier League.
Somehow, the 23-year-old has managed to pack enough power and resilience onto the pitch this season.
His stunning winner in United’s opening day match against Foxes Leicester City, singled the defender out as a break out the season.
And so far, Shaw has succeeded in convincing boss Jose Mourinho, who has pinned the England international in his team-sheet of regular starters.
Bleacher Report Dean Jones lit a spark of excitement in social media outlet Twitter, saying United are set to hand Shaw a new lucrative deal that will keep him at the Premier League outfit.
Shaw has appeared nine times for United in all competitions this season. Passes completed by the defender is 84 percent.
The Englishman has notched up one assist and one goal for United in all competitions this season.
Mourinho will hide his smile just yet, and will hope the 23-year-old is available after the international break when they take on third-place Chelsea.
Shaw has been ruled out for a few days after coming down with injury in United comeback 3-2 home win against Newcastle on Sunday.
