Man United have tabled a $69.4 million bid to Inter Milan to sign Slovakian defender Milan Skriniar, as per Tuttomercatoweb.
Although United have a plethora of centre-backs, they are still in the market to sign a top-notch player in that position.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted that United are open to signing a player in this window but it is not a priority for the club. Given that he has improved the form of the side, they might be tempted to add a player to his otherwise strong squad.
Skriniar joined Inter Milan in the summer of 2017 and he was key to their Champions League qualification last season. He is still a key figure for the San Siro club.
Learning of United bid for him, the 23-year-old star dismissed the reports.
“You write things that you don’t even know,” Skriniar posted on his Instagram story.
“You are sh***. Now write an article on this.”
The player signed a long term deal at Inter last season but he has always spoken fondly of United in the past.
Kostas Manolas has also been heavily linked with a move to United but they are unlikely going to sign any player before the close of the window.
