Jose Mourinho is apparently angry with Ed Woodward for obvious reasons, as he wants the club’s transfer dealings in the bag before the first preseason game against LA Galazy on the 15th of this month.
The signing of Victor Lindelof is in already in the bag, and a number of targets are reportedly on their way: Nemanja Matic is reported to be set for a move to Old Trafford, and with Morata deal not looking as though it would happen, Man United have feasted on familiar ground Everton for their star striker Romelu Lukaku.
Be that as it may, we take a look at how United will file out next season.
No one knows whether David de Gea will play at United next season, as Real Madrid are playing hardball at the moment. However, I expect Sergio Romero to step up regardless in between the sticks for United.
The duo of Eric Bailly and new signing Victor Lindelof are expected to operate from the heart of the defence. The likes of Chris Smalling and Jones can take backseat at the moment since they are not quite solid whilst paired together. The last time they paired was the 2-1 loss to Tottenham in May.
Valencia and Daley Blind are sure to cover the right and left flanks of the defence respectively. Both have been solid in defence and will continue in similar vein.
Matic has been strongly linked with a move to United, and his arrival would mean that Paul Pogba will be allowed to go further in attack, whilst Ander Herrera would complete the trio in midfield but mainly concerned with the attack.
The effective Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are expected to operate from the left and right flanks respectively. Spearheading the attack will be Lukaku who scored 26 goals for Everton last term. The 24-year-old has been hanging out with Pogba of late and we hope their understanding translates to the pitch-of-play.
