Brescia Sandro Tonali’s dynamism has earned him a reputation in Italy as one, if not the brightest rising star for his young age-18 years.
Tonali has already found the back of the net once this term, coupled with five assists attached under his name.
With 18 appearances so far for the Serie B outfit, president Massimo Cellino is determined to hold on to the player after receiving interests from foreign clubs.
The latest reports streaming in say Liverpool have an interest in the youngster and Cellino confirmed it as true.
Liverpool was added to the mix, that had Roma and Juventus listed as interested suitors in the 18-year-old.
All three clubs face a tough battle signing him with Cellino still very unconvincing about cutting off the young lad from his side.
Cellino softly fired back when asked if he would sanction the player’s move to Roma. He said: . “I’ve talked with [sporting director Mauro] Baldissoni several times, but I want to keep the boy as long as possible.”
Tonali shares comparisons with Italian legend Andrea Pirlo. The 18-year-old likened his game play to that of Gennaro Gattuso.
Whether he is ready to take the leap to a different league is still not clear, however Cellino wants to have him tied down a little longer for further evaluation.
