Liverpool in pole position to sign in-demand striker in January

The transfer window is just few days away. And when it gets underway, topflight teams will battle off to sign preferred targets. Reports doing the round says Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool is eyeing a move to sign Germany international and striker Timo Werner.

Werner has had striking performances for his club RB Leipzig.

The German has been blazing guns for the German topflight and his performance has not gone unnoticed in this campaign.

Reports pouring out in the media say that the German is keen on leaving the club in this winter.

Liverpool is chasing after the 22-year-old and they are not the only club’s struggling to sign the star. With over 90 goals for both club and country, that tally is difficult to ignore.

Chelsea are said to be keen since Alvaro Morata stopped banging goals. Arsenal, Tottenham are also interested, including Manchester United who just saw a complete revamp in management, following the hasty dismissal of Jose Mourinho this month.

Clubs will have to stump up about 50 million pound if they want to sign the 22-year-old. League rivals Bayern Munich have been linked with the forward, however Leipzig’s president has rebuffed the claim about any possible transfer, especially to the Allianz Arena this term.
