Liverpool in pole position to sign £27m striker wanted by Man United

Steven Bergwijn has emerged a top target for Liverpool. The highly-rated winger has Liverpool on the balls of their feet and Reds can’t wait to pounce on him.

However, they will face a stiff competition for the winger. Reds had earlier pulled out of the race for the prolific flanker, only to re-enter the fray according to De Telegraaf.

But Klopp’s side are not the only one in the mix for the PSV star who has bagged 10 goals in 24 matches this season for the Dutch side.

Liverpool will face competition from Tottenham and big boys Manchester United says The Sun.

It is understood Old Trafford had sent scouts to watch the player in action in his club’s 2-2 draw against Emmen.

Liverpool top the Premier League log, four points off holders Manchester City, however Reds are still looking to strengthen their side.

A move for Bergwijn will definitely bolster Klopp’s side, coupled with adding Mexican Hirving Lozano who has been in rude health for PSV this campaign.

Lozano is also being eyed by Spurs and a string of Italian outfits. However, PSV’s valuation for the 21-year-old is too steep, standing at a staggering 27 million pounds, and it is very likely clubs in England may steer clear of lodging a bid.

  1. We only scout players for other clubs to buy. Bergwijn is a killer and very dangerous. If don’t sign him now, are you going to sign 30 years and above players? Now Manchester United cannot dole out money for players. Ed Woodward why?
