Topping the Premier League log, finally beating off rivals Manchester City, despite the small gap that’s kept them apart, Liverpool are still keen about deeping their toes into the market.
They are willing to throw the kitchen sink at the transfer window this month to keep them safely away from Manchester City who have found their sweet spot again.
Though Reds have a slew of talents embedded in their squad, however keeping a good distance away from Jurgen Klopp’s men with games coming thick and fast this better half of the season is a heavy load on Klopp’s shoulders.
Reds have been given the upperhand to sign Schalke 04’s USA international Weston McKennie.
McKennie is a defensive midfielder, which seems rather odd that the news is floating about his looming arrival to Anfield. Though the Reds already have Fabinho to fill the boots there, but the former Monaco man has had a flagging performance since moving from the French Ligue One.
McKennie has capped seven times for the United States and has made 46 appearances for Schalke so far this campaign.
Bookmakers have pinned the 20-year-old to likely join the English side. Liverpool are tipped favourites to land the midfielder by BetVictor, ahead of Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund.
