Following the sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona, Liverpool are yet to replace the Brazilian playmaker. While many believed selling a player of Coutinho’s caliber was a huge mistake, it’s interesting that Liverpool have fared, looked, and played better in the absence of the highly rated Brazilian.
The previous week, French outlet Le10Sport claimed that the Reds were yet to find the principle agreement to close the deal with Monaco regarding the transfer of wide-man Thomas Lemar.
The Les Blues player is not the only player who has been linked with a move to the English club. According to Sport, Liverpool are also on the trail of Real Madrid’s Welsh winger Gareth Bale who has been in and out of Zinedine Zidane’s setup ever since the Frenchman took over the helms at the capital club.
The Spanish media claimed that Madrid are asking for a fee around 100 million euros – the exact price they bought him from Tottenham – before the Welsh can leave the Los Blancos.
Having won 3 UEFA Champions League titles with the Los Blancos, Real Madrid are ready to let go of the Brit as they are on the move to acquire the services of Neymar from PSG. However, Bale is also heavily linked with a move to Manchester United and it ill take a battle to sign him in the transfer window.
It is believed that Madrid will use the money recouped from Bale’s sale to table an offer for the Brazilian forward. If Neymar becomes impossible, Madrid would then go for Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah who is reportedly worth 180 million euros.
