Liverpool returned to the Champions League after ending fourth on the Premier League log – the manager of the Reds is keen to maintain that status of the Club as one of ‘big four’ of the League.
To ensure that Liverpool give the top Clubs a run for their money, Klopp has already bolstered the team of the Reds with the signing of Mohamed Salah and Dominic Solanke this term. However, he is poised to add another attacker to his side.
Liverpool have advanced talks with Spanish side Atletico Madrid for the signature of Angel Correa, reports Foot Mercato.
Correa is currently unsettled at the Vincente Calderon as we understand and a good offer can lure him away from the Rojiblancos.
The 22-year-old Argentina winger can play on any of the flanks or behind the striker and is said to be a more potent option to Alex Oxlade Chamberlain. The Reds have decided to make Correa their number target for the wing position.
According to the report, Liverpool have met with the player’s representative and they are said to be willing to offer him £2.4million-per year in wages on a five year deal – but no bid has been made for the player.
However, the transfer ban slapped on Atletic0 Madrid is sure to stall any possible move for the player. They will not be able to sign any player until January.
