We were greeted with the report of Jose Mourinho sack earlier this week. While the football World was shocked as his sack because it was sudden, it appears that the Portuguese manager didn’t know he was going to be sacked.
According to reports, Mourinho thought his meeting with Ed Woodward that got him sacked as the manager of the club was about transfers.
Mourinho has led United to their poorest start in a Premier League campaign. The Red Devils were outplayed, outclassed and outscored by Liverpool last weekend, which led to the boss being summoned by Woodward.
According to The Sunday Times Mourinho believed he was called about reinforcing the squad of United ahead of the January transfer window. To his dismay, he received the shocker of their decision to sack him, claims the report.
Mourinho was appointed to manage United in the summer of 2016. Up until his sack, he had signed some players for United but somehow, he didn’t utilise them to their strength.
He had disagreements with majority of his big players, with other report claiming one of his senior players had called on Woodward and asked him to sack the manager after their defeat to Liverpool.
No player has been mentioned but it would certainly been one of the players he bought on his appointment.
United have appointed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the interim boss of the team but the club is yet linked with a move for Mauricio Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane.
