Arsenal will be in high spirit when they take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this weekend and while the Club is tacitly overhauling the squad, they have also begun the search for Arsene Wenger’s long term successor, according to reports.
According to latest report, respected Italian agent and Antonio Conte’s good folk, Federico Pastorello, has revealed that Arsenal are now front runners for the signature of Chelsea managerial target Maurizio Sarri.
Sarri has led the Naples based club to a barnstorming season in the Seria A this term – Napoli are currently leading on the Seria A log as they hope to dethrone the Old Lady as Scudetto holders.
The display of Napoli has not gone unnoticed all over Europe and Sarri has been linked with a move away from the Club, with Real Madrid and Chelsea thought to be in his chase. However, report has indicated that Arsenal are front runners for his signature, according to the Sun.
Arsene Wenger has a contract with Arsenal until the end of next season but the recent appointments of Barcelona’s Raul Sanllehi as head of football relations and Borussia Dortmund’s Sven Mislintat as head of recruitment means they are already charting a new course for the club.
Speaking on the proposed deal for Sarri, Pastorello said: “Sarri? Arsenal are mainly being talked about for him. From experience, I’ve learned that in the market, the most concrete negotiations take place in silence.”,
Arsenal have failed to win the Premier League for over a decade and their recent poor form means Arsene Wenger can no longer be trusted.
