Spanish international and midfielder Juan Mata will be out of contract this summer.
No deal has come through for the player from United’s official, but the veteran midfielder who moved from rivals Chelsea has admitted he is not worried about his future.
The attacking midfielder has been given the go ahead to discuss pre-contract terms with foreign clubs as he seeks playing time elsewhere.
Mata could be a walking as a free in the summer because no new contract for extension is on the wings.
No talks have commenced over his stay. United do not have any laid out plans to keep him beyond this summer.
Mata is still unsure about moving back to Spain, admitting England has rubbed off on him, though he’s still aching over the distance between him and his family who are residents of Spain, he told AS.
“But I don’t know if I’ll return to Spain in the near future. I’m calm, I’m at the fantastic club that is Manchester United, one of the biggest in the world.”
Meanwhile, Mata is confident United can finish on a high note this campaign since United hired Ole Gunnar Solskjaer services .
“We are focused on finishing the season as well as possible and reaching our goal of a place in the Champions League.” Mata said.
