Koulibaly to Manchester United takes a massive twist

Senegalese star Kalidou Koulibaly has a host of clubs chasing after his signature. Not only is Manchester United keen, European rivals Real Madrid have acknowledged they are interested in the powerful centre-back too.

Koulibaly have been producing the goods for Napoli and his wonderful performance has been catching the eyes.

Former United boss Jose Mourinho was keen on signing the star before he was axed from the outfit.

United saw a former 95 million pounds bid rejected by the Naples side and president Aurelio De Laurentiis has ruled out any possible move.

“Mourinho wanted him, we rejected £95million,” De Laurentiis said. “But now [after Mourinho’s sacking] it’s impossible that he leaves Napoli.”

Interests from the La Liga has been flocking in. Real Madrid and Barcelona are reportedly interested in the defender and it could be a fierce bidding war for both galaticos, according to outlet II Mattino.

The publication claimed that Barcelona had submitted a €120 million for the defender, but it was quickly put down by Napoli.

Napoli is set to announce Koulibaly’s new contract and will hope to kill the trail on his services.
