Since Arsene Wenger announced his decision to quit managing Arsenal, so many names and theories have been propounded as to his probable replacement. It is only a matter of time before the board of Arsenal shock the fans with a replacement for Wenger.
Argentina football technician Diego Simeone has been contacted by Arsenal to take over the helms of the club but reports have claimed that the Atletico Madrid coach has turned down offers from the Gunners.
Simeone changed the outlook of Atletico Madrid since he took charge of the club in 2011 – he has led them to famously beating Real Madrid and Barcelona to the La Liga title and two Champions League finals among other giants strides.
Simeone is mentioned as top choice by some fans and pundits including former Manchester United star, Gary Nevile. However, the Mirror claims the Argentinian has informed Arsenal that he is happy with life in Spain and will not be taking their offers.
Arsenal will lock horns with Atletico Madrid in the semi-final of the Europa League on Thursday and it is another chance for the Simeone to prove his mettle against Arsenal.
The most likely replacement for Arsene Wenger is Mikel Arteta and that’s what we think at GFN. The Spaniard has learnt very well under Pep Guardiola and he will be able to uphold the philosophy of the Gunners after playing under Wenger.
