Jose Mourinho may have reiterated his desire to sign one more player for Manchester United but he may have to look elsewhere other than Barcelona for a new signing.
Spain international and Barcelona versatile defender Sergi Roberto has been on the transfer of Manchester United but the coach of the Catalan club Ernesto Valverde has ruled out the sale of the player, this is according to report.
The arrival of Brazilian star Paulinho had reportedly unsettled Roberto at Barcelona and he was tipped with a move away from the Blaugrana side. He was said to be unhappy with the prospect of playing from the bench, and Manchester United were thought to be interested in meeting his valuation.
The Red Devils have been looking for wide player that will provide competition for Antonio Valencia on the right and Roberto has been tipped for a Man United move. However, Ernesto Valvered has quelled a possible move for the player with his recent submission.
“Of course, I am absolutely counting on him,” the Barca boss told Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo.
“In some games he will be a major player and in some games no, but he remains an important player.
“How important, depends on each game during the season.
“He is a versatile player who trains fantastic.
“You ask me about him and Sergi Samper, both are doing well from the point of view of training.”
Chelsea were also willing to trigger the players £36.5million release clause but Conte has been left in the dark over new signings. The Blues have added new players to their rank this season but they are still in the market for new signings.
