Naby Keita, 52 million pounds summer signing from RB Leipzig has yet to grind out enough on the pitch this campaign and this has put boss Jurgen Klopp behind the eight ball.
Klopp was keen to shore up the middle of the park in the summer and had pounced on the opportunity to sign the Senegalese in the summer, knocking off rivals Manchester City out of the race for his services.
But Keita has not been producing the goods at Anfield which has Klopp having pounding worries over the big splash ground out to sign him from Leipzig in the summer of last year.
The 23-year-old has so far racked a campaign tally of 18 appearances for the Reds, but has failed to nail a spot in the last three matches for Liverpool.
Despite this minor setbacks, Klopp will shelve plans to keep him benched and his prepared to help the midfielder get his footing.
Keita is a fantastic midfielder, and just need a little bit of time to adapt. His swelling performance against Tottenham is telling enough that he packs enough under his belt and if given enough time to warm up to things in England, could turn out as a best deal however.
“Could he be a bit more confident in the games? Yes. Is he exactly the player in his best time at Leipzig? No. He is still adapting, that’s how it is.”
“There is really no doubt about the boy, he is an outstanding player.” Said Klopp.
