Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has included Arsenal as one of the Premier League title favourites for this season, this is according to reports.
Manchester City held Liverpool to a goalless draw at Anfield and to the delight of Klopp, Riyad Mahrez missed a penalty, leaving the Reds as one of the three teams that are yet to suffer a defeat this term.
Following the results of games over the weekend, Man City are on top of the table on goal difference ahead of Chelsea in second and Liverpool in third place.
While pundits have dubbed the chase for the Premier League title as two horse race, Klopp has insisted that the Gunners are one of the favourites for the title.
“Absolutely,” Klopp said when quizzed if the title race is open. “I knew this before! And Arsenal are two points behind, yeah? Having won six games in a row, did they? So it looks like they are in a good shape. Reports the Mirror.
“But we played City today. You can get three points or one point or no points. We got one, which is fine.
“If somebody would have told me after eight match days you have 20 points, I would say with that fixture list ‘I’ll buy it, let’s start with the ninth match day!’”
Arsenal are currently in fourth position on the log but two points adrift the top three.
The league is still young but Chelsea, Liverpool and City have been able to stand out. Many have argued that the Gunners will be unable to stretch their winning streak but it is left to be seen when they take on Leicester City after the international break.
