You take away Philippe Coutinho from the team of Liverpool, you take away the spine or back-bone of the Reds team, as the player has imposed himself not just as the best player in Liverpool but the Brazilian is arguably the best midfielder in the English Premier League and one of the best schemers in the world.
Coutinho has been on the transfer radar of Barcelona but the Blaugrana matched their intentions with offers for him this summer. The Catalan side reportedly made a £72million bid for him but the Reds rebuffed it as they are unwilling to let go off their most priced possession.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has now put to rest all the speculation regarding the player’s future with claims that he is staying put at Anfield this term according to report.
“I can understand that Coutinho is so highly rated, but they can save their energy,” he said of Barcelona’s interest.
Barcelona’s have a squad that is aging and Coutinho has been identified as the player to replace Andreas Iniesta for the long term. To add to the woes of the Catalan side Neymar appears to be closing in on a move to Paris Saint Germain, and he wants his compatriot to join him there.
However, reports have indicated that the Reds have slapped a mammoth £170milion asking price for Coutinho and this would ward off any advances for him as they believe.
