Jose Mourinho to personally superintend Man United deal for €30m-rated CB

Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho is infuriated at his board’s decision not to spend in the upcoming January transfer window.

Jose Mourinho has sent the Old Trafford executives a statement of intent by adding French defender who plies his trade for Barcelona Samuel Umtiti to his January transfer wishlist, this is according to the Sun.

The Portuguese icon is renowned for his preference for a defensive team. More so, he cherishes defenders more than most of his peers. It is however surprising that the United manager is yet to create the defensive core he would love.

After 18 months and £300m, Jose Mourinho has made Barcelona defender, Samuel Umtiti top of his transfer list. Question marks remain over the future of Chris Smalling and new addition Victor Lindelof.

The Portuguese coach knows the Red Devils need an extra man to beat rivals Manchester City to the English Premier League title. With 8 points separating them from the leaders, Manchester United need to act fast.

However, Umtiti whose contract expires in the summer of 2021 won’t come cheap for the Manchester club. It is believed that the Frenchman’s clause stands at £53m which Jose Mourinho believes is cheap considering the defender’s age and potential.

Antonio Griezmann, who almost joined the club last summer, has also been linked to Mourinho’s side. His £175m release clause could be triggered by United if he’s set to leave Atletico Madrid.

According to transfermarkt, Umtiti is valued at 30,00 Mill. €
