Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is yet to conclude his transaction at the ongoing winter window as he’s planning to get Michael Seri before the end of the month.
Seri, who is currently with Ligue 1 side Nice, is being tracked by Manchester United, and the Red Devils are ready to confirm his signature as soon as possible. Having signed Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal to improve his team’s attacking firepower, Jose Mourinho is believed to be in the market for a midfielder in order to bolster his midfield quality.
According to the Sun, United are ahead of other interested clubs including Liverpool and Chelsea who are also aiming to increase the depth of their players in the middle of the pitch before the close of the season.
Seri is believed to fill up the space that could be created by the departure of veteran central midfielder Michael Carrick who might retire at the end of the season due to decrease in physical strength and heart-related problems.
Marouane Fellaini is another player who is reportedly going to move out of Old Trafford as he has refused to agree to United’s terms. The Belgian midfielder who is currently out injured has been phenomenal for the Reds since his move to the Theater of Dreams from Everton during David Moyes’ reign as United boss.
The reported departure of Fellaini has rendered Mourinho with no other options but to add another central midfielder to his team.
Seri is valued at 35,00 Mill. €.
