Jose Mourinho sparks bidding war with Liverpool for £30m-rated tough tackler
Manchester United are currently faced with a defensive dilemma following injuries to three of their centre-backs. This has left Mourinho with no choice than to start searching for reinforcements and report by the Telegraph revealed that Michael Keane, who also tops the transfer wishlist of Tottenham and Liverpool is wanted at Old Trafford.
The former Manchester United starlet joined Burnley in the summer of 2014 on a loan deal but the deal was made permanent after Keane signed a three and a half year contract with the Turf Moore landlords in the January of 2015. Ever since he made the move, he has established himself as a starter for Burnley and one of the most prospective stellar defenders in the League.
United are entitled to 25 percent of his sell-on fees if he’s sold to another club which also translates to the fact that they can get him for a lesser price than any of his suitors. The transfer market is heavily inflated and Burnley will surely tag the player at a price close to that of John Stones given the number of clubs in his chase.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have seen their season capitulated following a series of shambolic performance by their defenses. Klopp is keen on bolstering his squad and a report by the Mirror earlier this week revealed that Keane tops the transfer target Liverpool. Tottenham are well interested in the player too but he is most likely to return to his boyhood club Man United.
It will be interested to see where he ends up, given Mourinho’s propensity to spend, United may secure a deal for him.
