Jordi Alba has emerged as a target for Manchester United and Jose Mourinho has sanctioned a move for the Barcelona full back, per reports.
Among the top left full backs in the world, Alba ranks top but he has been left frustrated with Barcelona, who have refused to offer him an improved contract. The agent of the 29-year-old openly laid bare his frustration over the lack of offers, fueling speculations that his client will call time on his spell with the Camp Nou outfit.
Alba joined Barcelona from in the summer of 2012 and he has been a regular for the side ever since. However, he could be plying his trades away from the La Liga next term.
Tottenham, and Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for the player but Sportwitness reports via Don Balon that Jose Mourinho has sanctioned a deal for the Spaniard and he’s willing to go overboard to get a deal done for the player.
Daley Blind, Matteo Darmian, Marcus Rojo and Luke Shaw are reportedly on the exit list of Man United, with the club looking to sign a top-notch left back.
United have already signed on Diogo Dalet as long term replacement for Antonio Valencia but they are still searching for a natural left full back that will come in as the permanent replacement for Ashley Young.
It is left to be seen if Barcelona will accede to the demands of Alba or let him leave. He is currently valued at £54.00m according to transfermarkt.
