Jose Mourinho sanctions £60million deal for Chelsea’s target

during the Barclays Premier League match between Norwich City and Everton at Carrow Road on December 12, 2015 in Norwich, United Kingdom.

Jose Mourinho is a perpetual big spender in the transfer market, this is typified in his dealings in the last summer transfer market in which he shattered the transfer record of the world and signed on Paul Pogba from Juventus in a £89.3 million(€105 million) deal. However, Pogba was not the only player signed, he was joined at Old Trafford by Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailley in big money moves as well.

It appears that the Portuguese tactician is yet unrelenting to splurge the remainder of the hefty transfer warchest of the Red Devils with recent report indicating that the “Special One” has sanctioned a £60 million deal for Belgian international and Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku has been in blistering form for the Tofees this term as he is jointly on top of the Premier League goal scoring chat on 19goals with Harry Kane – this has seen him draw attention of some top Premier League clubs. Nonetheless, United are not the only club who have keeping tabs with the player. The Sun claims Chelsea are also looking at the player to provide solid competition for Diego Costa.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has imposed himself as top choice for Mourinho but he’s probably all United have got as their striker. Should Lukaku complete the move to United, he will slug it out for a place with the aging Ibrahimovic.

Lukaku is a strong left-footed striker who is strong on the ball and in the air. He’s been playing in the Premier League since the 2011 and will need no time to adapt to the rigours of English football if he eventually makes a move away from Goodison Park.
