Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has delivered his team news ahead of Man United FA Cup clash against Huddersfield Town, where he confirmed that Eric Bailly is back, according to reports.
Bailly’s last game in the colours of Manchester United was against Chelsea in the November of 2017 following an ankle injury. The Ivorian was subjected to a corrective surgery but Mourinho speculated at that time that he would be out of action between two to three months.
However, Mourinho spoke with MUTV according to reports on the Club’s official website, where he broke the news of Bailly’s come-back. Nonetheless, Marcus Rashford, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ander Herrera continue to remain on the sideline with various injuries.
“We want to go to the quarter-finals so we go with a serious approach,” the boss told MUTV. “I have more Premier Leagues and League Cups so, of course, I’d like more [FA Cups] but I’m not thinking about myself. I’m thinking about the club and the fans.”
The return of the centre-back has come as a timely boost for the Red Devils who will resume Champions League hostilities against Sevilla next weekend.
Man United are not short of personnel at the heart of defence – players like Phil Jones and Chris Smalling may have been shaky at the back atimes but they have done very well thus far.
There is no telling if the Ivorian will be thrown into action immediately but Jose Mourinho will certainly be cautious about how he eases him into the squad.
