Manchester United manager José Mourinho has made his decision over Marcus Rashford’s future known to the public as he reportedly told newsmen that he won’t loan out the youngster in the summer.
The Portuguese manager was said to be furious with Rashford’s performance in their shocking 1-0 defeat to Brighton last week. He is considering sending him out on a loan deal ahead of the upcoming season. However, that seems to be a mere speculation.
According to British media outlet 90min, the former Porto and Chelsea manager is ready to give the England forward another chance to redeem himself at Old Trafford, considering his skills, pace and tricks at both flanks.
“He impresses me. That’s the reason why he was selected for every match of the season – absolutely every match of the season – and that’s why he played in so many of them. So he doesn’t need to leave to play or to need anything.”
Real Madrid are reportedly tracking the striker’s situation at Old Trafford, and they hope to launch a big-money bid for his signature in the upcoming transfer window. The Los Blancos will have to battle it out with Arsenal who are also said to be eyeing a possible move for the youngster. The Gunners hope to provide a strong team for their incoming manager who is yet unknown.
Marcus Rashford, 20, has fallen down the pecking order since the acquisition of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal during the previous transfer period in January. The Chilean striker was immediately given a place in the team’s starting lineup by Mourinho which has led to Rashford’s refusal to renew his contract with the Red Devils.
He has featured in 50 matches for the Red Devils this season, most of which are from the substitute bench, scoring 12 goals with five assists in the process.
