Chelsea may have been handed another golden chance in an attempt to sign highly rated midfielder Jorginho from Italian superpower Napoli.
According to Chelsea-news, Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis rejected Qatar-owned Manchester City’s bid, after the Pep Guardiola side tabled £50 million for the midfielder.
Napoli president De Laurentiis told CorSport: “I’ve just refused last bid for Jorginho from Manchester City, they’ve offered €50M.”

Deals have proven difficult for West-London based Chelsea with the Naples side in recent weeks following their refusal to accept Chelsea’s bid for former coach Maurizio Sarri.
It appears City will also be trapped in a tight negotiation with Napoli regarding Jorginho’s transfer. The 26-year-old has been a hot subject for news and sports dailies after Manchester City registered their interest in the Italy international.
Nonetheless, it is believed that this staggering outcome could spell well for Chelsea. The FA Cup winners are on the hunt for a new coach and former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri has continued to be linked with the English outfit.
However, both parties have struggled to reach an agreement over Sarri’s release clause which Chelsea have considered to be unfair.
On the other side, Chelsea will hope De Laurentiis will be able to delay City a bit longer before they can come up with a better offer for the midfielder.
