The appointment of Jose Mourinho as the manager of the Red Devils inflated the hopes and aspiration of Manchester United fans. Despite the enormous amount spent by Dutch tactician Luis Van Gaal, he was not able to win the title – however, Portuguese tactician Mourinho has been touted to bring back the glory days for United.
Mourinho was not frugal in the last transfer market, he bolstered the team of the Red Devils from the defense to the attack. Players like Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay were out of favour with him and he let them off the radar of United. Nonetheless, he has revealed that he would not have sold some former stars of United and Javier Hernandes appears to be delighted at Mourinho’s submission.
Chicharito joined United from C.D Guadalajara in the summer of 2010 but was a fringe player. He left United for Real Madrid on a season-long loan deal in 2014 but was soled to Bayer Leverkusen on his return by Luis Van Gaal. Mourinho, in a recent claim listed some former Man United players that he would not have sold.
‘Man Utd sold players that I would never sell. And bought players that I would never buy,’ said Mourinho.
‘I would have never have sold Angel Di Maria, Chicharito and Danny Welbeck. Never. No chance.’
Gary Lineker had a chat with Mourinho on BBC Sport, where the Special One made the said revelation. The interview was posted on Twitter and the Mexican forward Chicharito was found to have liked and retweeted the post.
With the summer transfer market not very far off, Mourinho may look in the direction of the Mexican. Chicharito has scored 10 League goals this term.
