The Gunners play host to perennial arch rivals Manchester United in a super Sunday clash. There is nothing really at stake for both teams to fight for other than pride though Man United can still leapfrog Man City or Liverpool in case of a slip to a Champions League spot from the Premier League.
Arsene Wenger has most of his team members fully fit for the game safe for his engine room Granit Xhaka who was ruled out after he picked up an ankle injury in the Gunners derby game against Tottenham last weekend.
David Ospina and Shkodran Mustafi are fully fit and will be in contention for the game after lengthy spells on the sidelines. Ospina nursed a back problem that kept him out of action since Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Man City in the League.
Meanwhile Mustafi sustained a thigh injury but is back. Lucas Perez had returned from his own lengthy spell but it appears that he’s had a setback and is ruled out of the game for tomorrow.
We expect Wenger to tweak the team that lost to Tottenham in the Premier League last weekend. Wenger had a back three of Gabriel, Koscielny and Monreal but their display lacked cohesion as they defended like school boys.
Jose Mourinho had revealed that he’ll make changes to the team that played in the Europa Cup game, fielding most of his second fiddle players. Wenger must be looking to explore any possible weakness in that team.
I suspect Wenger will use the same formation but we might see Holding back in the defense and then one or two changes in the midfield. Elneny should come in for Ramsey while Giroud should return to the bench for Welbeck.
This is how Arsenal are likely to like up.
