Arsenal face a challenging task of taking their lead tally against Chelsea to six points on the table when they square it off with London bitter rivals Tottenham.
But the Gunners are faced with a ripple that is threatening to challenge the club’s top four spot on the Premier League log.
Former Germany international Mesut Ozil has been dropped out of the squad on several occasions, fuelling talks of a possible exit.
Manager Unai Emery has yet to reach a truce with the skilled midfielder, whose spat with the Spaniard has been dragged far too wide.
Arsenal legend Robert Pires has urged both sides to quell whatever differences between them. Pires who was part of the Arsenal “Invincibles” has frowned bitterly at the ugly incident between Emery and Ozil.
Ozil remain an integral fabric of the north London side, especially at the middle of the park, and letting him walk off just so easily with less games on the books for him, could cast a spell of gloom for Arsenal.
Pires is worried Arsenal could lose one of their biggest assets to Fernebache or Inter Milan who are rumoured to be waiting in the wings for the star.
“It’s vital that Emery finds a space for Ozil in the first team.”
“It would be a big step backwards for the club if they sell him.”he said.
