MLS outfit Sporting Kansas have clinched the deal to sign Arsenal Arsenal midfielder Gedion Zelalem.
Talks to try to sign the Arsenal midfielder has been in the works for sometime now. It was hawked around before that the Gunners midfielder was catching the eyes in the MLS League.
And now, his transfer to join Sporting Kansas has been confirmed.
Sporting Kansas City manager and director Peter Vermes is pleased about adding the 25-year-old to their side. Kansas City are tied in a lot of competition this season as the MLS League gradually moves through gears. Zelalem’s addition to their ranks couldn’t happened on another time better than this, explained Vermes who is looking forward to integrate the midfielder into his plans.
“Gedion is a talented player and we are excited to welcome him to the club,” Sporting KC Manager and Sporting Director Peter Vermes said. “We look forward to his integration into the squad as the team competes in multiple competitions throughout the season.”
Zelalem had looked like the right figure to replace Cesc Fabregas when he joined the north Londoners six years ago. His sterling performance had qualified him for the role, but his progress at the club had been hampered by injury issues, blowing his chances of playing for the Gunners senior side.
