You cannot eulogise Antonio Conte for the recent strides of Chelsea without attributing it to the efforts and outstanding performances of some of his players. One player that has consistently maintained his top-notch display for the Blues this term is Eden Hazard.
The player has been attracting keen interest from the La decima holders Real Madrid and the Catalan club Barcelona but Diego Costa has revealed that he hopes the attacking midfielder will stay put at Stamford Bridge.
Hazard has starred in 26 Premier League games for Chelsea this season and has scored 11 goals and assisted 4 goals.
The Belgian attacking stalwart has been a subject of interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid but Costa reckons that he will not make a move away from Stamford Bridge.
‘It will be bad news for Chelsea if Real Madrid sign Hazard and Courtois,’ he told Cope.
‘Eden is the best, he’s top.
‘Barcelona and Real Madrid will have their eye [on him] and if a team like these knock on the door you have to think about it.
‘It is normal that they love him but hopefully he will not leave.’
Hazard joined Chelsea from Lille in the summer of 2012 in a £32 million deal and he has won the Premier League player of the month. The Blues cannot afford to let their most valuable attacking player leave.
Chelsea are currently leading the race for the Premier League title and they will be hosted by Stoke City on Saturday at the Britannia Stadium – Hazard will be hoping to replicate his recent form as they look to clinch the title for the second time in three years.
