Injury blow, two key Arsenal stars ruled out of Southampton game

Arsenal have been reveling in the ambiance of great form this season but injuries have started to take its toll on the players of the club.

The Gunners will be without with Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis in their Premier League game against Southampton. However, Unai Emery has claimed that Mustafi would be fit for the Gunners game afterwards.

Mustafi has started in all of the League games for Arsenal this season and he was fielded along Sokratis and Stephan Lichtsteiner in a back three line-up against Huddersfield last weekend.

Sadly, he limped off midway through the game and he was said to have picked up a hamstring injury. With quite a number of Arsenal defenders recovering from injury, it was though that Mustafi would be on the sideline for sometime.

However, Emery spoke after the win over Huddersfield where he revealed the defender would be “ok”.

Arsenal rising star Rob Holding picked up an injury in the game against Man United and he has been ruled out of action for the rest of the season, while youngster Dinos Mavropanos is yet nursing an injury and is yet to return to full training.

Laurent Koscielny has returned to action but the 33-year-old is still building fitness. The defence for Arsenal has been the weakest link of their squad, Emery will be hoping to have most of his defenders fit for the imminent hectic schedule.

Mustafi and Sokratis picked up their fifth booking and are ineligible to play in the League this weekend.
