Injury blow for Liverpool as striker is ruled out of season’s kick-off

One of the undoings of Liverpool last season was the number of injuries sustained by the first team members. Jurgen Klopp has to ensure that his players are less injured as they fight for the Premier League title next season.

Liverpool youngster Rhian Brewster has sustained a foot injury that will keep him out of the Reds pre-season tour, this is according to report.

Arsenal have returned for training and Liverpool’s squad are due to return today in time for preparations ahead of the upcoming season.

The 17-year-old was included in Liverpool’s first team training toward the end of last season and he had hopes of being included in Klopp’s group for pre-season this summer. That hope has now being dashed following recent development.

Brewster confirmed the injury on Snapchat on Tuesday with a photo of his foot in a protective boot.

The report was confirmed by Paul Joyce of the Times. There is no telling how soon the youngster will return.’

Meanwhile, Roberto Firmino, Alberto Moreno and Lucas Leiva are among the players that were expected back to Liverpool on Monday. Emre Can and Marc0 Grujic are expected to be the last to return because of their engagements for their coutries.

Klopp’s team is most likely to be thin in this first week of training. They will play Tranmere Rovers next week before taking on Wigan two days after.
