Valenciennes defender Pierre Barremackerel wants Arsenal’s move before ending his career. The defender recently opened up to Newsmen his desire to play for the Gunners and he would be hoping that Wenger moves for his signature before the start of the 2018-19 season.
“My models are Koscielny and Thiago Silva, for his leader mentality,” he told Nord-Eclair over the weekend “Other than that, I dream of playing in the Premier League and to wear Arsenal’s shirt, because when I started to watch football, Vieira, Henry and Bergkamp were there.
“If I could one day wear the France shirt, that would really be a magical moment in my career”
Arsenal have been poor at the back of the pitch all through the season as they exposed Petr Cech to much pressures thereby which was responsible for the netminder’s costly errors.
In his move to find a solution to the team’s defensive problems ahead of next season, Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has been linked with a move for some high-profile defenders including Luke Shaw, Jonny Evans.
With the youngster’s declaration to play for the Gunners, Wenger could easily turn his attention towards getting his compatriot in the summer.
Should he eventually join the North London club in the summer, Berremackerel will have to compete with Shkodran Mustafi, Rob Holding, Calum Chambers and Konstantinos Mavropanos- who switched to the Emirates stadium last winter- for a place in Wenger’s starting lineup next season.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are currently preparing to face CSKA Moscow in the second leg of this season’s Europa League quarter final. The Gunners were 4-1 winner against the Russian side in the first-leg of the encounter at the Emirates stadium and they would be hoping to complete the job tomorrow.
Wenger’s men must avoid conceding more than two goals if they must make it to the semi-final round of the competition.
