Arsenal is all out scouring for a-Danny-Welbeck replacement before the transfer door is unlocked for business in January.
The Gunners already have drawn up a laundry list of plans and targets and are hopeful it pans out well.
Despite all targets worthy of a mention, not all, save one has shown intense desire to wear the red and white shirt, though Arsenal haven’t sniffed around him.
Cameroonian Christian Bassagog wants a chance to be in Unai Emery’s team and his hopeful for a European return.
Yes, it’s still a dream for me to come back to Europe,” Bassogog said exclusively to Goal.
“I would like to play in the biggest league in the world, in the Premier League. My favourite club since I was very small is Arsenal. I like playing with the ball and this club suits me. When I was a child, Thierry Henry was a model for me. It’s someone who impressed me a lot.”
Bassagog regaled his dreams of playing for the Gunners, his childhood club, and he is very optimistic he can deliver the goods at the Emirates.
He explained that the Gunners style of play suited the way he likes playing with the ball.
Bassagog plays in the Chinese Super League for club Henan Jianye. He joined the side from Danish outfit Aalborg in 2017 after winning the African Cup of Nations with Cameroon, and was crowned the tournament’s best player.
Bassagog has stamped a close to solid impression in the Chinese League, and could see himself get pitched up there with other Gunners’ targets, since notching up 6 goals and registering three assists this season.
